I mean these independent swing voters on the right are voters who might conceivably vote for trump if their particular economic issues aren’t accommodated, so I assume it will be the same “vote or shut it” energy for them right?
I say this as someone who will sigh vote for Biden if I must: What excites me is someone who runs authoritatively on addressing root causes of pandemics and children rotting in cages and a lawless beast who squats in the White House—because I take those things very seriously.
What does not particularly excite me is someone who runs on their ability to work with people who enable root causes of pandemics and children rotting in cages and a lawless beast who squats in the White House. Because again I think these are serious problems.
Anyway that’s what I mean by excitement. It’s not some juvenile selfish thing. It’s the feeling you get when you think someone is really going to make a difference about serious issues that matter.
If the guy that gives you that excited feeling about those concerns doesn’t excite someone else who shares those same concerns, telling them something like “vote or shut it” probably doesn’t help your case.
And if the guy you’re with doesn’t give you that excited feeling about those grave matters that concern you, it’s possible you’re kidding yourself about the effect that guy is going to have on those grave matters like lawless beasts and kids in cages.
Moreso if you’re backing your guy mainly because you think he’ll appeal to others who don’t share your concerns, but are looking for someone to do stuff keeping the economic status quo in place, and are perfectly happy to vote for Trump without a second thought for kids in cages.
Again, I’m one who’ll vote for Biden if I must, no matter how much you yell at me.
