New website for E14 Coronavirus information
In order to hold useful information in one place I have built the following website, although it started as Canary Wharf only it covers E14 area

Includes links to dedicated websites in Island Gardens and Limehouse, you can click on blue text to link to phone numbers, emails, websites
It is an amalgamation of information from Jo Ellis at Island House & information I have, any errors/omissions are my own so let me know

Over time additional information like shop opening hours, takeaways open etc will be added each day so that it is a central repository of information from social media and elsewhere
So let me know if you want to help

ASDA IoD had a special shopping session for the vulnerable & NHS staff from 6-9am today after some time of difficult shopping
@EhtashamulHaque & I helped after checking with ASDA managers yesterday, it went OK but the thread is about lessons learn't this morning

a/ Number of shoppers was down on yesterday, so a number of people got the message to stay away, thanks to them
b/ ASDA had extra security on the door, checking people & only allowing people in batches, big help
c/ Ehtasham Haque & I stayed outside to help organise crowd
2/
d/ a number of people did leave queue after being told for vulnerable only, thanks to them
e/ small group of people, were not co-operative, did not maintain social distance, were argumentative but they were kept out, lucky only small group & they were let in later after others

Last night I asked Tower Hamlets Council to pulp the latest edition of 'Our East End' newspaper
Dated March 2020 but it does not mention the words: flu, virus, coronavirus, Covid-19 anywhere, no health advice in it
I asked to re-issue with latest advice

NHS advice about coronavirus dates from at least before 13th February, I tweeted about it on that date
Our East End contains stories from after 19th February
Tower Hamlets Council since 2013 has been responsible for Public Health in the Borough
It has large public health team

So why did they not put in anything about the virus?
But Our East End only names Mayor Biggs 18 times, the least mentions in last 8 editions, progress!
And I am in the ironic situation of having called for it to be shut down now asking for a special Covid edition

MOLTO meglio avere dei dati sicuramente sbagliati, ma che abbiamo un'idea di come correggere, che non avere nulla.

Polemiche di questo tipo, anche in conferenza stampa, sono ingenue e deleterie.

😱#COVID19 death toll in the US is rising at a faster rate than nearly any country, with #coronavirus deaths DOUBLING *nearly every 2 days*.

Deaths are a “lagging” indicator, as it takes time for patients to 1) become symptomatic (median=5 days) and 2) to succumb (2-3 weeks). 2/
This #coronavirus has an R0=3 (each infected person infects 3 other people on average).

After 10 rounds of this, that 1st infection leads to 59,000 new #COVID19 cases.

And the virus has been circulating UNDETECTED in our communities for MONTHS.🤬

#coronavirus thread. I’m a doctor. Board certified in internal medicine. I work in a community hospital (affiliated with a major university hospital system) in an affluent area of a Red State in the Midwest. Coronavirus scares the SHIT out of me.
I just learned YESTERDAY how to order a test for Coronavirus. I am 100% certain Admin has kept us lagging behind intentionally. A positive test would be disastrous for this hospital. It we be a ghost town around here. Admin wants beds full, otherwise we don’t make 💰
I have learned that the dept of health will test a patient for free only if they meet the criteria of clinical symptoms AND if they have been to epicenters in Asia or Italy. Otherwise the test goes to local lab corp and costs ONE THOUSAND dollars to test

The man who died was not associated w/nursing facility - @DocJeffD says @CDCgov team on the way expected tonight to begin “outbreak” investigation. More cases expected. He again stresses MORE hand washing, less face touching, social distancing @KIRORadio #coronavirus
Right now they are focused on the nursing facility but no widespread community spread yet @DocJeffD says they could get to point where they ask people to telecommute, cancel large gatherings etc. if situation changes, urges everyone to take precautions, stock up on meds
