And blaming shit like using a malware-like installer or lying about end-to-end encryption on “we got a lot more users” is still bullshit. Kudos to their ops team for dealing with the growth. Shame on their policy, marketing, and product teams for the deception and deceit.
IN ANY CASE, I hope that Zoom really does reform, even if they’re too proud to admit they actually had problems worth fixing. This 90-day focus is a direct consequence of the pressure exerted by all the sunshine Zoom faced. If the end result is better privacy+security then ✊
This will be a good test about whether Zoom is serious: Are they going to apologize for deceiving customers about e2e, and offer compensation to the deceived? That could be done today.
