I am happy to break to you, my good people of Lagos, the news of the release today of 11 more patients from our facility in Yaba.

They have fully recovered and have tested negative to #COVID19 and have been allowed to return home to their families.
The patients include two females and nine males. Their results came out negative in two rounds of tests.

I want to use this opportunity to, once again, thank our frontline health workers and other professionals for their service.

Let me reiterate that this is not the time to relax, but to maintain our vigilance because of the community infection that we are beginning to see.

I assure you that at the end, we will hoist a flag of victory - with your cooperation and by the grace of the Almighty.

This lockdown affects all our residents. The only exemptions are healthcare related businesses; food processing, distribution and retail companies, petroleum distribution and retail entities, power generation, transmission and distribution companies and private security companies

Today, we are taking further measures and giving new directives and guidelines to stop the spread of #COVID19 in our state. All open markets and stores are to close for 7 days, except for sellers of food, medicines, medical equipment and other essential life-saving products.
This directive takes effect from Thursday. We are also opening 7 additional isolation centres to deal with cases.

The Chief Judge of Lagos has been directed to ensure that courts in the state close immediately to the public and all court sittings should be suspended.
All public parks, including those in private and residential estates, swimming pools, gyms, beauty salons, and all such public places are expected to shut down at this time, until further notice.

Our sensitisation efforts will continue to go out on all channels; on radio in our indigenous languages to television, to the internet channels and through grassroot community information dissemination. If we have to use town criers, we will use them. #COVID19
Changes are being made to state run transportation, we will enforce safe number of passengers in our vehicles and also work with all our partners for other transportation channels in the state. We need to flatten the curve as we work together to stop the spread of #COVID19
I appeal to the private sector to join us in enforcing social distancing and public gathering by making adjustments to how their employees work and move around. We also want to appeal to our power distribution companies to do all they can in this period to make life easier.

A mother said her daughter isn't feeling well "but doesn’t want to say anything," because if she's put in solitary, she won't be able to call her.

The Chinese man who arrived Lagos yesterday aboard an Ethiopian Airline and suspected for COVID-19 has tested negative for the disease, Commissioner for Health, @ProfAkinAbayomi has said
@ProfAkinAbayomi who disclosed this today while giving an update on the management and control of COVID-19 outbreak in Lagos State said the patient who arrived yesterday aboard an Ethiopian Airline was taken into isolation after exhibiting symptoms of #COVIDー19.
According to him, samples were collected from the patient and the test which turned out negative was carried out the Lagos State Bio-security Level 3 laboratory located within the premises of the Mainland Hospital.
