An actuary here challenging the narrative that most of the COVID deaths are “people who would have died anyway”.
The data from the ICNARC Case Mix Programme Database which is the national clinical audit of patient outcomes from adult critical care coordinated by the Intensive Care National Audit & Research Centre (ICNARC) makes interesting reading.

icnarc.org/DataServices/A…
2621 COVID Admissions . 286 ICU units total of which 53 no COVID and no notification of incoming COVID. 346 died. 344 discharged, 1559 still critical. The largest number of patients (949) are being managed by the three London Operational Delivery Networks
OF THOSE à WITH COMPLETED OUTCOMES
As with China and Italy the fatality outcomes for men are seriously worse than for women ats.
Far Fewer women coming into ICU?
Fatalities : 86 women , 259 men
Women 107 discharged. Men 237

16-49 year olds = 123 in ICU, 94 discharged 29 died.
I’m a bit shocked about the completed outcomes of those admitted to ICU in the 50-69 age group.

168 discharged. 142 died. Nearly half.

Of course we need to see the data for non ICU cases to get a fuller picture.

Far more WITHOUT “very severe comorbidities” than with.
I attach this other thread that gives a sense of what hospitals and staff are having to struggle with.
