The roll-out of the military portion of the 25-year agreement between China and Iran will begin in November following the end of the 13-year United Nations embargo on Iran's purchasing or sale of arms on 18 October.

Following a series of meetings in China on 9 and 10 October between Iran's foreign minister, Mohammad Zarif, and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, North Korean arms and technology could now also be deployed in Iran in exchange for oil,

according to sources very close to the Iranian government. This will include, most importantly, mobile Hwasong-12 ballistic missiles, with a range of 4,500 kilometers,

and the development of intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) or satellite launch vehicle (SLV) liquid propellant rocket engines.

This will all be part of Beijing 's larger triangular partnership and will be further encouraged by China's imminent introduction of a new digitized currency system. This sort of co-ordination between North Korea and Iran and also between North Korea, Iran,

and China is nothing new, although its resumption at such a scale and in such products is.

According to sources close to Iran’s Petroleum Ministry spoken last week, oil shipments are the number one suggestion from North Korea to any country that has oil and wants weapons as a means of payment for any weaponry that Pyonyang has available.
