Even before clicking on the NYTimes take, I’m curious how they’ll spin #Israel as the devil.
So the NYTimes version of the implications of the Israeli operation on #Iran’s nuclear facility is what you’d imagine: A bad take punctuated with worse analysis. Here’s a few examples... nytimes.com/2021/04/11/wor…
Uncertainty? This is an #Israeli gift of even more leverage the US can use with #Iran in negotiations. Iranian threats are now less powerful. We don’t need to rush into a bad deal as we currently are. Team #Biden however is allergic to leverage. There’s a reason for that:
For Team #Biden (like Obama) the nuclear deal with #Iran is NOT about preventing the regime’s acquisition of nuclear weapons. It’s about strategic realignment.

This is why we don’t care about the details of the nuclear deal. It’s merely a mechanism to lock in sanctions relief.
US Intel officials should close their damn mouths. It appears to be an #Israeli op and they admit as much. But the US leaking of details is unhelpful. If we wore pants, we’d have done this. But we don’t. The admin has a form of Stockholm Syndrome.
Hopefully #Israel gabe the US absolutely no advance warning. The Biden admin can’t be trusted. They leak in order to harm Israel. Instead of celebrating this gift of leverage, Team Biden will be pissed and apologize to #Iran while censuring Israel.
Do you need me to draw you map? Unlike the nuclear deal the US, Europe, and #Iran are trying to resurrect, what #Israel did actually prevents the enrichment of uranium. And they didn’t pay the regime billions of dollar to finance their worldwide terrorism operations.
True. But Obama had and Biden is developing a track record of selling out #Israel’s intelligence ops. Remember how pissed these folks were when Israel’s Mossad extracted a giant archive of Iran’s nuclear weapons plans?
It’s not surprising that the NYTimes has a bad take on #Iran. They believe what they wrote below. These are not serious people at the paper when it comes to national security knowledge, Iran, or #Israel.

I saw @DavidTafuri’s sober analysis of the negotiations w #Iran on @FoxNews. Where Netanyahu is right about a deal threatening #Israel is that at this point any deal that allows the regime to enrich uranium is too great a danger. 1/x
We’ve already seen how glacially slow the IAEA is to react to new evidence and how incomplete their picture is about known nuclear sites. We know there are multiple ways the regime has cheated, years before Trump left the deal. Of course Iran will cheat again. 2/x
We’ve already seen Europe decide that almost none of that matters. What they care about is inking trade deals w the regime. #Israel can’t count on them to act when they should. 3/x

How Dangerous is the Situation Between the U.S. and #Iran?

I joined @vali_nasr and @MicheleDDunne for a debate over Trump's decision to kill #IRGC-QF Cmdr Qasem #Soleimani, the fallout, and what will likely come next. Full episode video at the link:
@vali_nasr @MicheleDDunne The idea that the US lacked justification for taking out #Soleimani is bonkers. It's not even a matter of how imminent an attack is; it's all the American blood already on his hands. I explain 👇
#Iran #Iraq
@vali_nasr @MicheleDDunne As I explain, "we're at a point right now where most mainstream media in the US and the talking points among leading Democrats - including presidential candidates - are more pro-Iranian regime than the Iranian people are." #Iran #Iraq #Soleimani 👇

Watch Brian Katulis of the Center for @amprog meltdown when I point out that he is parroting the #echochamber's talking points & tweets on @realDonaldTrump's decapitation strike on #Iran's #Soleimani.
@amprog @realDonaldTrump According to Mr. Katulis, Trump's maximum pressure on #Iran only gave us maximum resistance. Our allies don't trust us and Trump has no plan because he receives different opinions for advice. Incidentally, hearing the same advice repeatedly is part of what an #echochamber does.
@amprog @realDonaldTrump If we back up to the beginning, you hear the same #echochamber talking points that Team Obama used. It shouldn't be surprising. He works at @amprog, which is headed by @neeratanden. They dislike what Trump would call, #winning 👇 americanprogress.org/press/statemen…

But wait, there's more... state.gov/secretary-pomp…
You're about to hear a lot of garbage from media about the @StateDept decision on #Israel today. Reality: Team Obama's shameful, last gasp, UNSC Resolution (2334) upended decades of US policy and was designed to kick Israel in the teeth. This reverses that huffpost.com/entry/obama-de…

The president's decision on #Syria based on the empty #EndlessWar rhetoric paved the way for #Erdogan & #Turkey's invasion and will be strategically disastrous for American interests for years to come as I explain👇
We chose the #Kurds as our proxy precisely because we didn't want to fight #EndlessWars - they did the heavy lifting for us. The president could have explained how he accomplished all this with his "infinite wisdom" while other presidents did not, as I explain here 👇
One outcome, among the many bad outcomes in #Syria will likely be the resurgence of #ISIS, which makes this an even worse decision than the premature withdrawal from #Iraq by Obama and #Biden. There's no excuse here. We've seen this happen before, as I explain 👇
