In 2021 i made big gains on $GALA $MATIC & $SOL

2 days ago i bought $OCT @oct_network which has already gone up 25%.

I think it could 🚀 but there are concerns ⚠️

1/ UP FRONT

It is a complex #token but will try & simplify it for you.

This is not a paid promotion & i have bought some.

It is a smaller coin, so has huge upside but also risk. So don't just FOMO in & DYOR

2/ WHAT IT IS

-It is one of the most interesting #web3 plays out there.

-@oct_network is a multi-chain network for launching & running web3 apps.

-It solves some of the biggest problems faced by $DOT #polkadot & $KSM #kusama at the moment.

3/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES -1

-the promise of #web3 & decentralised ownership is massive

-but #web3 will never replace #web2 until cost, fees & usability get better. IMO ease of use + low cost essential for adoption.

- $OCT may help b/c it allows more devs to come on board

4/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES -2

-$OCT allows appchains to be built.

-appchains run cheaper & quicker than DApps because they are built on their own blockchain instead of an existing & inefficient chain like #Ethereum

5/ PROBLEM IT SOLVES - 3

-$OCT makes it a LOT cheaper to build + secure appchains compared to #polkadot $DOT & #Kusama $KSM

-$OCT costs less than $100k
-$DOT & $KSM costs a lot more b/c you have to win an auction ($10M -$100m)

- $ATOM does allow appchains but much more expensive

-#Polygon & $SKL may seem like good options but they only focus on smart contracts

In short @oct_network will:

-allow more devs to enter #web3
-allow more & superior app to be built
-allow better #web3 apps to be built + compete with #Web2
-drive #web3 adoption

7/ TOKECONOMICS - 1

-100M tokens in total
-42M already release and around 20M unlocked per year, for 3years
-Marketcap very small compared to rivals $DOT, $KSM & $COSMOS so huge potential for growth.

8/ TOKECONOMICS - 2

-The biggest red ⛳️ for me is token distribution
-The majority of tokens given to VCs
-Top 100 holders hold around 97% of supply
-This is a massive worry for me BUT doesn't completely rule it out investing (see next point)

9/ TOKECONOMICS - 3

-65% tokens (11% investors + 24% core team +10% OctFoundation) locked & released linearly over 3yrs ✅

-5% tokens for staking, not locked but cant go into circulation ✅

-30% for series A + IDO not locked ❌

10/ TOKECONOMICS - 4

-There is a threat that the 30% could dump on us
-The token is also inflationary for the next three years as 20M/yr tokens are realised.

8/ USP -1

- $OCT one of the first & biggest projects on $NEAR which is growing fast.

-unique take on #web3.

-users receive tokens in new projects launched via $OCT

9/ MACRO
- $OCT will ride the #web3 macro trend

- $OCT is built on $NEAR which is massively growing.

- Developers are flocking too $NEAR, remember follower the devs, follow the money!

10/ CONCLUSION -1
-I have big concerns around token distribution & many will be put off by this.

BUT
-I think VCs wont dump if lots of apps start launching via $OCT & they get rewards.
-I think devs will flock to it because of lower costs
-Potential to drive #web3 adoption

11/ CONCLUSION

In short $OCT is almost like a startup accelerator for web3 with cheaper fees.

I have a small bag, because the potential microcap growth is huge, but it is very risky.
