I know you've been waiting for the "daily losses" tweet and I'm here to serve!
An uptick today in both equipment and dead soldiers as #Russia's army continues to send young men to their deaths for a metre of land.
Now approaching 200,000 dead - projection mid May #StopRussia
#Russia did hit #Odesa (RU: #Odessa) early this morning in another mass drone attack.
Although 10 of the 12 Iranian made kamikaze UAVs were shot down the invaders did hit "a recreational infrastructure facility", a subsequent fire was quickly put out and no one was hurt.
Last night I reported in the thread that the first Patriot air defence system was operating in #Ukraine. Well now it's been confirmed that systems have arrived from #USA, Germany & #Netherlands.
The second of #Germany's promised four batteries of Iris-T have also been delivered.
Oh, and the #UK's 14 Challenger-2 tanks are also now in #Ukraine, plus Sisu XA-180 APCs from #Finland.
A Russian bank which based itself in #Hungary, has announced it's withdrawing from the country
It seems likely International Investment Bank hoped to go under the radar as far as sanctions were concerned. But as soon as they were 'caught' the IIB decides to leave the EU entirely
#Russia has denied allegations it's putting spies on civilian ships to gather intelligence for future sabptage attacks on western targets in the Baltic & North seas
Putin's mouthpiece "Rolex" Peskov says "once again, journalists prefer to baselessly blame Russia for everything."
This video is nice and gaining some traction... but it's a very old story! I first reported on it back in June 2022 when Canada's Globalnews had an exclusive on #Ukraine's teenage drone hero
...and here is the link for the original report on the then 15 year old drone kid who helped #Ukraine defy #Russia's invasion in the north of the country:
Drama in #Kyiv this evening as a huge flash lit up the sky. Obviously many feared a missile attack, then rumours that a satellite had fallen to earth.
It turned out to be a meteor, caught on one security camera here:
This is supposedly #Vuhledar after shelling earlier today. I cannot verify this is a new photo and there is no timestamp, but I did not find it in online searches.
The level of #Russia's losses in the last 24 hours remains in line with recent days. Another 690 killed in #Ukraine and we remain on course for 200,000 in mid-May.
British Intel today comments on the figures. They are slightly behind the 8-ball because as readers here will know, the trend is slightly up again. But yes, down from the insane numbers when #Russia was launching non stop attacks with cannon fodder.
I'll start in #Russia where a drone "stuffed with explosives" has been found near #Noginsk in Moscow region.
The 3-metre UAV weighing 85kgs "fell from the sky".
Media are saying it's one of #Ukraine's UJ-22 drones, with Canadian M112 explosive charges (unverified)
Yesterday we saw #Russia's brotherly love for Eton Musk. Russian advances in #Bakhmut. Explosions in occupied #Melitopol as well as usual attacks on the liberated part of #Kherson and #Kharkiv.

And so begins the daily thread for Day 423.
This is the only 🧵you need for all the news about #Ukraine and its defence against #Russia's illegal invasion.
670 more soldiers losing their lives needlessly and at some point today the 185,000th troop will be killed in #Ukraine fighting a non-existent cause for a regime in Moscow as sick as Hitler's Nazis.
Fuel tanks destroyed high again.
Overnight #Russia launched another drone attack, this time in the #Dnipropetrovsk region.
All six attack UAVs were shot down.
So far at least relatively few reports of attacks on population centres today. #SaveUkraine
