1. A few thoughts about Bernie and #TrumpRussia. Firstly, we don't know whether Bernie or those in his campaign were actively involved.
2. We simply don't have the evidence to make that determination one way or the other right now. This may change, or it may not.
3. What we do know is that Russians used Bernie & his campaign as part of a coordinated effort to undermine the 2016 elections.
4. This is a fact, and one that even Bernie has admitted. We also know that Bernie -- at best -- turned a blind eye while surrogates
5. or those pretending to be surrogates spread malicious slander against Hillary Clinton. He knew, and did nothing -- at best.
6. At worst, he encouraged it with a wink and a nod. Either way, this should raise concerns among Democrats moving forward.
7. In the most generous interpretation of events, Bernie was happy to look the other way while Democrats were slandered because
8. it helped him further his aims and agenda. Full stop. And there is no reason to think that he wouldn't do so again. So regardless of
9. whether Bernie/surrogates were actively involved with the Russians, the fact is, there is no reason for Democrats to trust him. Period.
10. That, to me, is the takeaway right now. Most of the rest is speculation, but this much is clear: Bernie was, at best, a happy bystander
11. who rode the wave of Russian propaganda because it helped him. And this alone is reason for Democrats to be highly skeptical
12. of Bernie and his surrogates moving forward, especially as regards the "Unity" commission and "reforming" the Democratic party.
13. There simply is no reason to trust them or their motives. End rant.
