While we’re on the subject. Here’s a list of actions @realDonaldTrump has taken since January to roll back protections for survivors of sexual assault. (Apologies for length) 1/
.@realDonaldTrump ended the Department of Education’s initiative to address college sexual assault 2/ cnn.com/2017/09/22/pol…
He also proposed gutting the State Department office that works to end gender-based violence abroad 3/ nytlive.nytimes.com/womenintheworl…
Trump even removed research on sexual violence from the White House website 4/ huffingtonpost.com/entry/white-ho…
What else? Trump abandoned a pending rule to combat workplace sexual assault in the healthcare sector even though violent workplace incidents are 4X more likely to occur in the healthcare industry 5/ dol.gov/dol/foia/OASP-…
And this Trump EO rolled back limits on forced arbitration for some workplace sexual assault victims... 6/ whitehouse.gov/the-press-offi…
..a move which perpetuates a culture of silence around workplace sexual assault by keeping reports of attacks behind closed doors 7/
Trump is also threatening to cut millions in sexual assault prevention $ if cities won't break up immigrant families... 8/ justice.gov/opa/pr/justice…
…disregarding multiple federal court rulings finding that such coercive tactics likely violate federal law 9/ cnn.com/2017/09/15/pol…
Oh, Trump also opposed providing victims greater access to info via discovery in military sexual assault cases after the House included it in a proposed version of the 2018 National Defense Authorization Act 10/ whitehouse.gov/the-press-offi…
...it was one of only 27 objections the White House raised regarding the *1,330 page* 2018 NDAA. 11/
And when the House passed the $700B bill last week...the protections were gone 12/ politico.com/story/2017/11/…
And finally, there's the tweet @realDonaldTrump sent at the top of this thread. Talking about sexual assault, not to inform or educate, but to distract from the conduct of other sexual assailants is offensive to common decency, and a disgrace to the presidency. 13/13
