In light of the CryTek v CIG lawsuit, we have been ramping up our research into all the companies associated with Star Citizen. My list has been updated to show that they opened THREE new ones between Aug-Nov this year. Because that's normal.

Others are currently investigating off-shore links to see if any of these companies (or ones we're not aware of yet) are linked to known tax havens/shelters and such. Will know more soon.
While the public hasn't seen the GLA mentioned in the suit, and which will most definitely be filed under seal, the current CryTek and Lumberyard licenses are publicly available. Most of these contracts tend to have same language, but with minor revisions on a case by case basis
The interesting part which someone pointed out is that one of CryTek's claims cites a breach for CIG/RSI not only showing the code during their Bugsmashers, but also sharing it with a third party, namely Faceware. So...
Looking at the Lumberyard agreement, they have similar stipulations. So there is a possibility that if any Bugsmashers showed more than 50 lines of code, then arguably CIG/RSI are also in violation of the @AmznLumberyard agreement

While this sort of accidental and incidental breaches are not worthy of lawsuits, the small claims in the CryTek lawsuit, tend to add up and compound the larger claims. It's generally a matter of throwing everything in, and then waiting to see what sticks & survives.
I am not a lawyer, and I don't even play one in a video game. But as someone who has signed so many contracts and licenses over the years, and with several major parties, trust me when I tell you this: the CryTek claims are a major problem to deal with
The most ironic thing that has happened since the 12/13/17 filing of this suit is that CIG/RSI have removed EVERY single discussion of this lawsuit from their forums. Yes, the very backers whose money is at stake, are NOT allowed to discuss it, nor question the company about this
And that's why we are seeing more and more of this now, with basically a run on the bank reddit.com/r/starcitizen_…
As I did back in 2015, I have engaged my attorneys to look into possibility of filing an amicus brief as part of this lawsuit. I urge backers who are seeking answers, to get together & instead of buying JPEGS, get an attorney to file one for them. Cost? $1,500 or less.
For those of you who do not know what an amicus brief it, start here. legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Amicus+brief
As I have said before, discovery & depositions are going to be a hoot. Especially when the likes of Ben Lesnick, face of the community and his racist, homophobic website and past history come up
Then you have Jared Huckaby, who will also have to answer questions as to how a convicted burgler who did time & parole, ended up being the face of what has turned out to be the most toxic community in gaming.
Then we have the Elms & Roberts brothers who were smack in the middle of the Gizmondo fiasco which turned out to be one big scam. I wrote about that in 2015 dereksmart.com/2015/11/inters…
Which brings us to Chris & Ortwin, who were also in the middle of various legal action involving complete failures and loss of investor money here in the US and in Germany.
I'm not even going to talk about Sandi, and all her removed (we have them) fake LinkedIn profiles, interviews etc, claiming degrees & qualifications she doesn't have. Not to mention...
Her remarkable exchange with a backer which shed light on how they regard and treat backers like a money pit, and with no respect whatsoever.

God, I hope they don't settle this, then go pray for a miracle to finish the game that backers have given them $174M+ to build.
Also, there is a group in the UK offering financial assistance to those wanting to file a claim against CIG in the UK for their refund. Go here: reddit.com/r/starcitizen_…
