I Tweeted a while back that Nigerians are stagnated Politically because we always play into the hands of people who politicize critical issues for their personal gain. Just as this was deployed to the advantage of this admin, same will be used to unseat them. #MarkMyWords
The last admin respected our democracy enough not to deploy state apparatus to fight the disingenuous wrongs against them. They allow the propaganda flow, they allow the proliferators of hate speeches and lies live unintimidated. Socialmedia was agog with all sorts. #MarkMyWords
DSS didn’t harass anyone or keep them as political prisoners under unfounded charges. Some even claimed to be on a sniper list, Herdsmen attacks were blamed directly on the President as the President’s hitmen disguised as Herders by a diminutive mischievous political opportunist.
Today, you can’t do or say a quarter of what those that rule today did to clinch power before you are charged for one thing or the other. You can be clamped down for demanding your right as a citizen in some context which is very ominous.
My advice to you all is to keep your Tweets truthful and clear. Socialmedia may be shutdown before election year if care is not taken. People who are fond of mischief with posts should take good note of this, you may endanger your own freedom if found wanting. #MarkMyWords
Verify and confirm pictures before you post them on sensitive matters. Do your own research and check the veracity of every claim. Don’t give anyone an excuse to incarcerate you unduly. Your PVC is useless if you are imprisoned all through the election period. #MarkMyWords
Also don’t let anyone drag you into any propaganda. There is no JIHAD by any Fulani against the Nigerian state. There is no war against Christians by Herders. Muslims have been slaughtered, likewise Fulanis too in this crisis. We shouldn’t heat up the polity unduly. #MarkMyWords
The issue is far complex than the over simplifications. There are criminals in every ethnic group no doubt but to brand any tribe based on the actions of a few is unjust. We are all a victim of Govt’s incompetence and lassitudes which emboldens criminality. #MarkMyWords
Understand the issues and put it in proper perspective, not in any form that weaponizes the issue to favor your political pursuit while it fans the embers of hatred and division that will rage & lead to conflagration after the election is over. #MarkMyWords

Politicians will tell you a Governor is the Chief Security Officer of his state when it is convenient. Governors will tell you they don’t have control over Police & Soldiers when defending themselves against their own negligence meanwhile during elections they control both.
Ask your Governors who controls the DSS in each state? Who do they report to? Why is it that they only coordinate with central on critical matters? Can they actually function without the approval of the Governors? CPs & Directors of DSS alike.
Years back Chibok matter was solely & conveniently blamed on the President, we toxically & selectively forgot the phrase “Governors are Chief Security Officers of their State” bcos of the weaponization Of propaganda against the then President. Today, we‘re playing the same card.
No doubt in both cases under the then admin and the current one FG were negligent on security matters for not being proactive but to totally absolve the Governors (respectively) is criminal. #MarkMyWords
