7/ So in leaving the EU, during the transition the UK wants to be treated as a member state, and according to @Jacob_Rees_Mogg have a veto on EU laws and have the ECJ rule on disputes rather than the EU unilaterally reduce market access in the event of a dispute.
8/ Maybe the ultra Brexiters have been reading about the legal implications of leaving and the difficulties the UK would face such as hauliers not having permits and British people finding it hard to be able to drive cars in the EU. theguardian.com/politics/2018/…

10/ Meanwhile the Japanese in diplomatic terms are FUCKING FURIOUS WITH THE UK
11/ The Japanese were clear in their position that the UK leaving the EU is pretty grubby behaviour when the UK invited Japanese business to the UK on the basis of its place within the EU
12/ Those with a highly developed sense of diplomacy, strategy, a sense of the national interest, as a guardian of the economy and jobs for British people would take this as a sign that staying in the SM and the/a CU would be sensible

15/ An EU/Japan FTA and the UK leaving the SM/CU coupled with angry Japanese business, does not suggest any UK/Japan deal will be better than we have now. But then I am relying on evidence which is not a Cabinet competency
16/ In fact being able to say the exact opposite of what is happening in reality seems to be the key competency as Cretinus Maximus @DavidDavisMP demonstrates with impressive regularity
17/ Cretinus Maximus @DavidDavisMP comes very close to suggesting @MichelBarnier cannot be trusted. Which is quite something given the the UK's wrongful sending out of 100 deportation letters, the suggestion the EU could go whistle....

19/ Still I am sure that as we need the EU's help in trying to stay in their trading arrangements in the transition, Cretinus Maximus @DavidDavisMP as a whip smart negotiator knows exactly what he is doing in publicly saying he does not trust the people he needs help from 🤪
20/ Who knew taking back control would mean asking for help from the people we are leaving to help us mitigate the effects of leaving because leaving is not really very good when you have no plan and a Cabinet who do not know what leaving really means 😳

22/ I mean when you have the ultra Brexiters arguing for the UK to be treated as a member state during the transition, wanting a veto over new EU laws during the transition, wanting the ECJ to be the arbiter of disputes then why stop that after the transition?
