"Quinn Norton" is trending in my timeline. Apparently she's been hired by the NYTimes for their editorial page. Twitter has exploded with people who have a beef with her -- which have done the opposite, making me like her more, not less.
Apparently she's willing to speak honestly instead of being silenced by political correctness and befriend those with whom she has violent disagreement.
Yes, tiki torches are a bit silly, and we should laugh at them, not run from honesty trying to be politically correct because somebody is offended
Norton has never been a Nazi sympathizer. That she has associated with Weev simply means she's not into the McCarthism blackballing of people the way most people are
And yes, I'm sure. Many believe we shouldn't fetishize hate words, empowering them, but disempower them, like in these examples. There's context here that's missing why they are used ironically.
Allowing political correctness to censor that edgy JPBarlow re-tweet is the crime here, not the edgy use of the n-word.
Absolutely. I mean, if they actually came to power, I'd take up arms and shoot them, but right now, they are a joke/troll rather than a threat. I see no statistics that they are growing in power, despite the Dark Lord's election.
The same is true of Communists, which I've dated, despite Communists having a worse track record on every measure than Nazis.
Sadly these days, most people's reaction are to isolate themselves from those they disagree with, to see them as evil caricatures. Your default stance should be to do the opposite, to honestly consider their views from their perspective.
