The fact that your first instinct when a madman commits a horrific act is to automatically blame actual law-abiding citizens says many things about you, none of it good.
Let's be clear: most/all of you with this mindset aren't even arguing in good faith. Your default position is "do what I want or you're evil".
For the record, that's probably not the best tack to take if you actually want to do something more than posture, but you do you.

I've given people the benefit of the doubt and gotten crapped on in return. Pretty sure I'm done with that.
So congrats. You've turned a formerly reasonable person into someone who's usual response to you will be FYNQ. And I'm pretty sure that I'm not alone.
We've almost reached the breaking point. I'm not sure I see a way back anymore that doesn't involve some really, really bad stuff.
