A couple of quick #mtgfinance takes on #mtgm25. 1) JTMS & Chalice will enjoy strong rebounds past peak supply. Nothing holding them back & facing strong demand.
2) Despite an odd mix of cards at mythic, there is good value in the rares, with 16 rares $10+, 10 rares $20+, but just 4 rares $30+. In MM17, the #s were 13 @ $10+, 8 @ $20+, and 8 at $30+, so less high end, & a slightly better low end. Also, still a few to go there.
3) The problem longer term is that this set is packed with cards whose values were high because of low supply, not high demand, so many of the money slots are going to depreciate hard and recover slowly: filter lands, asuza, port, obliterator, etc.
4) The key financially, will be to make your list of first time foils & higher demand staples with low original foil supply & target those at peak supply.
5) If you nailed down boxes in the $150-160 zone, you'll be fine and should max value by hosting a draft. If you are looking at $200+/box, focus on singles.
6) The C/UC in #MTGM25 should not be overlooked. Between Counterspell, Bolt, Ancient Stirrings, Dark Ritual, Brainstorm, Simian Spirit Guide, Nettle Sentinel, there's a solid contribution to EV from HIGH demand cards & hitting these foils will be NICE. #mtgfinance
7) Some of the cards that seem to be missing from #MTGM25 are going to show up as Masterpieces in #MTGDOM or the next Masters set. #mtgfinance
8) On the flip side, a TON of good specs got a fresh lease on life for 6months+ here, so milk that while you can. People still need Colonnade, Karn, Cliffs, Doubling Season, etc.
