1/ VERY interesting tidbit from an ex CEO of major tech co.

Tech giants are opening offices in new cities as much to RETAIN valley talent as RECRUIT new. New office opens and the ratio of valley employees asking to move to actual job openings is 11:1
2/ Along with techlash + echo cahmbers that rightly rail against 'change the world' ad-click-bait "engineers" contradictorily + competitively ice-plunging & meditating to find 'peace'...
3/ Along with failure to anticipate impact of "changing the world" + moving fast + breaking things, without considering the "thing" is in part fabric of society + civil discourse which was shrewdly observed + exploited by foreign agents.
4/ Would not be surprised to see a major tech co follow Thiel not to LA but to Boulder, CO or other non-valley city and re-establish it's HQ outside CA.... Very interesting implications.
5/ Amazon HQ2 will also create a big ripple effect + aftershock of talent migrating to that city. And other tech co's will analyze...how Amazon analyzed...and establish new outposts as much to attract NEW talent as to let OLD talent pioneer into new city.

On April 4th, 1789, 57 days after the Constitution of the United States went into effect, George Washington was sworn in or inaugurated as the first President of the United States.
After 2 terms he famously set the precedent of leaving office. With a slight modification, rather than carrying on to the date of his inauguration, he chose to pass the baton to his successor on March 4th, 1797.
The significance of this date is profound. It was the 8 year anniversary of our Constitution going into effect.

@ThomasWictor 1) I discussed this with a marine who recently returned from a deployment to the region who, while he didn’t specify that he was a part of the marine unit as mentioned... implied it heavily.
@ThomasWictor 2) He mentioned being in a ‘scout’ company which is traditionally a smaller sized company (100-something men) and when he showed me pictures of his squad during the deployment, they were all EXTREMELY heavily armed. Each person had an LMG it seemed.

Interesting idea.

Not implausible.

I still think the tech giants are doing exactly what it looks like:
Pulling out all the stops to ensure a midterm Dem victory, and screw the consequences.
2/
 It's terribly depressing as a recovering Aspietarian to reflect how wrong I was.

I thought corporations becoming more powerful than govs would create a freer world of choice, because if they pissed you off you could switch to a competitor.
3/
 It turns out, they're just a globalist backdoor to tyranny.

In cahoots with the entrenched, ideology-driven gov networks, they get lucrative contracts--like Bezos' $600m with NSA, or Google (Alphabet) intelligence contracts.

While being outside Constitutional restrictions.
