If you wonder why I am upset by the behaviour of our government toward Russia in the Skripal case, then you have a very short or distorted memory of what our government did in 2003.
They literally took pieces of intelligence, cut out the context of it, distorted its meaning, and then led parliament astray with it - just to get a vote for war in Iraq.
That war killed 300,000 people, it’s repercussions are still felt in the Middle East today. They lied. They lied so that they could push a political agenda that suited them. If you can’t see the similarities with what government are doing in the Skripal case, then you’re blind.
For some reason people don’t understand how easily manipulated ‘intelligence’ from our intelligence agencies is. You can’t test it. You can’t look at the context of it. You can’t examine the source of it. You can’t look at what the motivations of whoever it was obtained from are
I trust our police, our criminal justice system, and the good people who work very hard in it. I also trust the people that work in our intelligence agencies, though that trust doesn’t extend to some of the intelligence they hold.
I do not trust our government. They lie. They withhold facts, distort truth, and hide behind semantics. They are driven by agenda. They have little or no connection to the criminal investigation that’s going on in the Skripal case or access to the facts of it.
What they are presenting to you, me, the world, is there alternative version of the facts. I demand more because of what Blair and his cronies did in 2003. I want the raw facts, not distorted intelligence and half truths.
I don’t know if it’s war in Ukraine with Russia, or war in Syria with Russia, or war in Iran with Russia, that they want, perhaps it’s all of them. But what I do know is that agenda is driving what the government are saying and doing in the Skripal case, not facts.
