1/ Ok @EmilyThornberry we need to talk. It seems like you have been mislead or are being misleading regards the EFTA/EEA 🇮🇸🇳🇴🇱🇮 option. Either way you aren't being factual and clear about it. So let's clear things up. 
2/ you said: "the EEA that is a deal which is 20-years-old". The implication being that it is out of date and insufficient. In fact, the EEAA is dynamic and continually updated! The EU and EEA states meet regularly to discuss possible alterations and updates.
3/ you said "frankly [the EEA] is for a much smaller economy than the British one." Actually all current EU members are in the EEA including Germany.
4/ you said "We do need to have a tailor-made agreement.” Did you know that 🇱🇮🇳🇴🇮🇸🇨🇭 have varying agreements with the EU?
5/ (yes we know 🇨🇭 is not technically in the EEA but mirrors it in a form of EEA manqué) see UK government website: gov.uk/eu-eea
6/ ...the point is; there is scope for a efta/EEA based "UK option" this might take the form of 🇳🇴 plus extra safeguards on oversupply of labour or maybe a strengthening of EEA co-decision rights. It's potentially up for negotiation.
7/ why do you think all those peers voted for it? Because they know a EEA brexit is a smooth, jobs-friendly brexit.
