WHERE ARE THE RUSSIANS?
1. As conservative commentator @MarkSteynOnline commented recently, “the only thing missing from the Russia investigation are the Russians." Mark might closer to the truth than he realized. Let me see see if I can explain.
2. Did you happen to catch @DevinNunes on @MariaBartiromo over the weekend? Lets give a little listen. Pay very close attention to the first minute or two for important details.

3. Very first statement. "No one was ever interested in an an informant." There may be an informant or informants. What we have been asking for are the handful of documents used to begin this investigation:". Nunes has been driving toward the heart of where this thing started.
4. Knowing that the dossier (and a broader mosaic of facts - per James Comey in @BretBaier interview) was used in the FISA warrant, Nunes says they are trying to get to the bottom of what else was used in the FISA warrant. Thus his drive for these last remaining handful of docs.
5. The DOJ says we're wrong about the dossier, so show us the other pieces of the mosaic, Nunes says. There is one major problem with Nunes' request. The DOJ can't show him the remaining documents or the house of cards will crumble. The DOJ has been caught in a trap. Lets review
6. The Russia investigation began (as far as the public is aware) with the dossier. Adam Schiff begins the James Comey hearing to discuss Trump's wiretapping claim in March of 17 by reading directly from it. listen:

7. Fast forward to December 2017, when we learn the dossier has been bought and paid for by the Clinton campaign. Magically, the DOJ leaks to the NYT that it was not the dossier that started the investigation. It was Papadopolous drunkenly talking about hacked emails in London.
9. Fast forward to April. After continued stalling by the DOJ, Nunes is finally allowed to see the EC (electronic communication) used by Brennan to start the investigation. He learns there was "no official intelligence" used to start the investigation.
10. Nunes is driving straight to the heart of the matter, and on May 2nd we get the first word that he is pursuing a "new line of inquiry." He has arrived. He sends a classified subpoena to the DOJ likely asking for the remaining "handful of documents" Panic sets in at the DOJ.
11. So, the dossier story has failed. The papadop story becomes the focus until the "new line of inquiry" starts and the DOJ leaks that there was a "source" inside the campaign. @AndrewCMcCarthy then destroys the Papadopolous story in one article.

12. What do we have left? What did the IC use to start the investigation of Trump? What do these remaining handful of documents show? Why has the DOJ been desperately leaking details of one specific person to the Wapo and the NYT?
13. Nunes has just said, in the interview from Sunday, at the start of this thread, that he was not interested in "an individual" yet the DOJ has tried to reinforce through leaking that it was just one individual. Specifically an individual named, Stefan Halper.
14. Have you ever played chess? There are pieces with greater value than others. When you are a novice at chess you lament the loss of even one piece, but as you become more proficient, you learn to sacrifice some pieces for the greater goal of protecting the King.
15. If the King goes, the game is lost. So sacrificing a pawn (lesser piece) can be a very effective strategy. That is precisely what the DOJ is doing with the leaks to the MSM. They are sacrificing Halper to prevent revealing the more damaging story. In fact, the crippling story
16. Stefen Halper was a pawn that has been sacrificed by the DOJ, through strategic leaks to the media, to prevent the "king" from being lost. They are hoping that they can staunch the flow, and stop the bleeding. So what is this final thing that they are hiding from Nunes?
17. Seeing that all else has failed, the new narrative on the Sunday news shows is that the IC was right to be using "informants" on the Trump campaign because of their suspicious contacts with Russian agents. Reenter Adam Schiff.
18. Who were those "two advisors," and who is this "Russian agent?"

The two advisors Schiff is referring to are Carter Page, and George Papadopolous.

Headline:

"Donald Trump advisers George Papadopoulos and Carter Page both admit they met the same Russian agent"
19. It's so strange that they both had contact with the same "Russian agent," no? This dastardly Russian agent's name at the center of the Russian investigation is Joseph Misfud.

20. Finally, we are able to answer @MarkSteynOnline as to how the Russians fit into the story. However, there is one major, major problem with that narrative, and one that the DOJ is trying desperately to prevent us from learning. Joseph Misfud is NOT a Russian Agent.
21. This is the final straw; the one that will break the camel's back if revealed. As some of us have been saying for a while now, Stefen Halper was not the only person used by Brennan to setup the Trump campaign. There are quite a few others. One of the most critical, J. Misfud
22. There is a new book coming our next month, called "Faking Russiagate." Perhaps you've heard of it. @NatashaBertrand wrote an article about it in the Atlantic. There are some interesting quotes from the article. Let's look at one.
23. "Mifsud has virtually disappeared since his name was made public late last year. In their book, Roh and Pastor say that they last spoke to Mifsud by phone on January 13, 2018. Mifsud told them that he had been “set up,”...
24. "...according to the authors, and called Papadopoulos an “agent provocateur.” Mifsud had gone into hiding, he told them, after “the head of the Italian secret services contacted the President of LINK Campus, Vincenzo Scotti,” and recommended that Mifsud “disappear.”..
25. "...Since then, Mifsud “has been requested to hide, not to communicate, and not to speak to the press,” Roh and Pastor write. “He has been ‘put away’ and threatened to stay quiet.”
I have reached the limit for this thread, I will continue in the next.

26. Well, that is certainly thought provoking, isn't it? Let's take a look at a few more quotes from someone who has been following this story very, very closely. Chris Blackburn, a U.K. political analyst, was interviewed for an article by Elizabeth Lea Vos in Disobedient media.
27. The article has been picked up by @zerohedge. Chris says:

"I think Wikileaks will get a boost because Mifsud is ground zero for Russiagate. Adam Schiff, Trey Gowdy, and Devin Nunes have all said Joseph Mifsud is the start alongside the Trump Tower meting..."
28. "...If the collusion narrative is to be kept alive- Mifsud is the key. The media have to keep coming back to him.”

And this:

“When the George Papadopoulos story broke back in October, The Washington Post had already been in contact with Joseph Mifsud..."
29. "..They had received emails between the ‘professor’ and the former campaign advisor to Donald Trump. The Post was also the first media organization to name Mifsud publicly..."
30. "..It would be interesting to know who leaked the investigation before FBI Special Agent Robert Gibbs submitted the indictment against George Papadopoulos for lying to the FBI. Mueller’s team is often touted as being leak free.”
31. Chris also had this to say regarding Misfud ties to the CIA:

"Mifsud helped to establish in Rome [Link Campus... Link Campus had a reputation for being closely connected to some elements within the Italian intelligence services.’ It was an understatement.
32. "...Link Campus is intelligence central. It attracted foreign intelligence organizations. The CIA worked there.”

And for the coup de grâce:

“If Mifsud is a genuine Russian asset, he has been enabled by the United States’ most trusted allies..."
33. "...His relationship with senior intelligence and political leaders in Europe should constitute one of the greatest security breaches in decades. He had access to diplomats in training, sanctions targets and counter-terrorism strategy in the Middle East and South Asia..."
34. "...However, government reactions don’t show that."

35. Logical concussion? Joseph Misfud was no Russian agent. He was likely used by Brennan to start the official investigation and cover up the phony Russian email hack story. @tracybeanz laid out a compelling story on this topic. I suggest you read it. 👇
36. There is so much more I could include, but I think I have made the point.

If and when the DOJ ever turns over the the final handful of documents, they will most certainly reveal Misfud's name as being a CIA/FBI operator, and the starting point for the investigation.
37. & when that happens, the DOJ and former Obama admin officials will have run completely out of "legitimate" narratives for starting the Russia investigation into @realDonaldTrump. More Brennan cronies than Halper were used to setup the Trump campaign and Misfud was central.
Addendum: I will include some additional articles and videos in the addenda as well as my previous thread of threads that detail my thoughts on how we arrived at this point. 👇
Addendum: The Link campus and John Schindler could not a whole other thread.
Addendum: Listen closely as Trey Gowdy questions former CIA Dir. John Brennan during testimony, on 5/3/17, before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence and you will hear the subtle themes that I have put forth in this thread.

Addendum: Check out the statement from the DOJ regarding Trumps demand that they investigate:

A couple of curious points that relate to our ideas above.
A @JohnWHuber thread on Papadopolous.
Addendum: A thread on Misfud by @JulianAssange:

Addendum: I should have used @ElizabethleaVos Twitter handle in my thread above.

Folks, @dbongino once again beautifully lays out the story behind Misfud & the phone dossier. Read my thread and listen to this (see attached) and you will be totally up to speed.

Addendum The Maltese Phantom by@LeeSmithDC
"It also raises the possibility that Mifsud, whose circles are tied to the Clintons, may, like another professor recently in the news, Stefan Halper, have actually been working for Western intelligence agencies."

Addendum: Huber hammers the Maltese Phantom (Mifsud) narrative:
