Rick and Thomas have bought engagement rings and are hiding them in the house. They haven’t told each other anything. And keep moving the rings around and acting strange until we get #misunderstandings :(

Thomas keeps not letting Rick near him and seemingly wants him to leave the house.

T(irritated): Can’t you just go and take pictures somewhere in the town or lake?

Rick frowns and packs up his stuff.

R (exhales loudly): Ok. I get it.

Rick leaves but Thomas feels that something is wrong.

Rick can’t believe this is happening to him again.

Rick goes off on a photo shoot in Paris.

The brief is to take the most romantic images he can. When he send them to the editor. He gets scheduled for reshoots the following month. They let him know that the pics look to sad to publish and that he might need a break.

He realizes sitting in his hotel that he has nowhere that he can call home. He sold his apartment in NYC because he was always out or visiting Thomas. But now...

Thomas look and his find my friend gps location app and sees that Rick is in Paris.

He can imagine why he left like that and didn’t tell him. Usually he contacts him as he boards the plan and again when he lands but it’s been days!

He frets all night knowing he said something wrong and remembers how he rejected Rick and how he brought up in the past.

“I try to help. But when it comes to relationships I always end up feeling kinda used. Thrown away. “

Thomas goes to his shop the following day. The ring is in his bag.
And after a half day of TRYING to go to work as usual we only finds himself not paying attention to the customers. And *gasp* using his phone openly on sales floor.

His fingers keep migrating over the call button by Ricks name.

Meanwhile in Paris. Rick has totally trashed his hotel room with empty food containers.

Rick is all the way a mess he has been looking through his old SD cards of Thomas and mourns there relationship. He opens up his phone to scroll through the images there until he has enough and shoves his phone under a pile of clothes in his suitcase.

Thomas finally presses the call button and Rick phone rings a few times and goes to voicemail. He falters at what to say and clicks the call off hurriedly.

“So that’s it...”

He decides to close up shop and walk directly into angry country mouse.

Mouse: “Watch were yah goin’!”

T: “Not again- I can’t take anymore of this”

A teenage lady mouse comes and grabs her dad by the elbow.

LM: “Where are you goin dad!? Where do you think your running off to?”

Thomas here’s the lady mouse’s words.

T: “Where am I-to to Paris!”

Arriving in Paris, Thomas is goes to a hotel that he knows Rick has been to before. In the past Rick told him we wanted to take him there because the view in suite 1912 because it’s the absolute BEST.

Thomas takes a step toward the woman at the front desk.

“Welcome checking in?”

Thomas shakes his head “I’m here to see Rick Smolan”

Ok I see him here. “What is your relationship with Mr. Smolan? “

Thomas and Rick never had to use labels in their relationship.

What will Thomas label their relationship?

The woman looked impatient.

“Sir?”

Thomas (mumbles): He’s my business partner...

“Excuse me?”

Thomas’s nerves and guilt get to him. He wouldn’t have been in this situation if he just honest about his feelings. He needed to tell Rick.

T (blurts out loadly): FUTURE HUSBAND!!!

Thomas: He’s my future husband. Or I want him to be... if he’ll have me still. We had a bit of a misunderstanding...

Lady: I understand one moment. I’ll see if he wants to see you.

Thomas nervously waits while she reaches Rick on the phone.

Lady(on the phone): Mr. Solman?

“There’s a Mr Thomas...hello?hello?”

She turns to Thomas.

Lady: He hung up...I’m sorry I’m..

Thomas: It’s alright. I can’t expect two love miracles to happen to me in one lifetime.

Thomas turns away and heads toward the door.

“WAIT!!!THOMAS!!!!HONEY!!!!!”

Rick looks a mess running out in the lobby.

He’s dressed infinity favorite old tan soft San Diego Zoo 1992 shirt. That he might have had before his growth spurt with the way it’s stretched out. And some black boxer briefs, and socks with kiwis birds on them.

He rushes Thomas and gives him a hug. Thomas grabs his face and look in to Rick eyes and gives them a smooch.

Rick eyes go wide because Thomas is usually not one to kiss in public but chooses to ignore it and deepens the kiss.

Thomas breaks the kiss and attempts to detangle

himself from Rick. And stuffs his hand in pocket.

Rick: Sweetheart! I thought you didn’t want anything to do with me! I’m so happy your here I-

Thomas nervously bends down almost on one knee and has a little navy box. Rick notices. And pulls Thomas by the elbow.

Rick kisses him again and drags Thomas toward the elevators.

Rick: No you don’t! I left something important in my room.

The desk lady catches Thomas’s eye and gives Thomas a thumbs up.

In the elevator and all the way to the room Thomas and Rick hold hands until they have to let go.

Rick uses his card key and kisses Thomas on the cheek leading him in.

Rick: I can’t believe you remembered. I told you that this was my favorite place and I wanted to take you...

Thomas rests his head between Rick’s shoulder blades blushing al the way to his ears.

Rick steps away and grabs something in this camera bag. He waves over.

Rick and Thomas make there way to the balcony.

Thomas tries not to cringe while stepping over empty take out containers.

The view is incredible.

Rick: I have something for you too,babe.

Rick takes out a small emerald green box. Thomas takes out his own. The smile. And they know.
