Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968). Primer hombre en el espacio y en órbita. El Vostok 1 fue lanzado el 12 de Abril de 1961 y completó una órbita (108 minutos). El abrió el camino con el nombre clave "Кедр" (Cedro).
Alan Shepard (1923-1998). Primer norteamericano en el espacio con el Mercury-Redstone 3 en un vuelo suborbital el 5 de Mayo de 1961. Su cápsula Freedom 7 alcanzó los 190 km de altura y su vuelo duró 15 minutos.

En general es deseable que el viaje dure lo menos posible. Es más riesgoso viajar hacia la estación que estar allá. También está bueno poder ir rápido en el evento de que haya que ir de imprevisto... pero esos no son los motivos principales.
La razón principal es que la cápsula Soyuz es REALMENTE incomoda. Es tan pequeña que los astronautas no pueden estirar sus piernas, mucho menos moverse de sus asientos.

El cohete, se divide en varias partes.
La primera, el propulsor que está llena de combustible y dá el 1er. impulso al despegar ya deja de ser una basura como en cohetes anteriores, se desprende y vuelve a aterrizar, se imaginan el ahorro de dinero?

Acá podemos ver desde la cámara del propulsor el aterrizaje en la base marina, es tan preciso que en vez de hacerlo en un desierto lo hacen en esta plataforma marina, en el centro mismo.

This is in late twilight and very low above the horizon (9 degrees!!) . Crew Dragon is passing through Corvus.

A single shot 21:18:19 UT (May 30), showing the #CrewDragon ánd the classified US spy satellite USA 245! This is a high resolution optical reconnaisaance satellite.
I wonder if it was imaging Crew Dragon (they did this with Shuttles just after launch, to detect tile damage).

Zowel #CrewDragon als ISS gezien vanuit Polderpark Cronesteyn, Crew Dragon rond 23:18 met 10x50 verrekijker, ISS met blote oog. CrewDragon rond mag +3 a +3.5 maar op die hoogte zie je dat met blote oog niet meer. Hemel was nog lichter dan ik had gedacht.
En ook op foto gevangen zie ik net. Foto's straks.

For NW Europe, the earlier launch time compared to 27 May means we will NOT see it pass some23 minutes after launch.
Depending on your location the sun is either still *up*, or only just set, as is visible in this map I made (times in UT, as +1h for BST, +2h for CEST):

East and Southeast Europe (basically, locations east of 13 degree E longitude) does have a good, visible #CrewDragon/Falcon pass 23 minutes after launch.
West Europe has a sighting opportunity at the SECOND pass near 23:18 CEST, but for NW Euroep verly low above the horizon

Zoals ik op dit kaartje heb aangegeven, komt de #CrewDragon ongeveer 23 minuten na de lancering over Europa.
MAAR: in het westen van NL is de zon dan nog OP, en in het oosten nog maar nauwelijks onder! (zoals in het kaartje zichtbaar). Die passage gaan we dus niet zien.....
Zoals ik op dit kaartje heb aangegeven, komt de #CrewDragon ongeveer 23 minuten na de lancering over Europa.

Als het weer in Florida meewerkt (patrick.af.mil/Portals/14/Wea…) wordt vanavond om 22:33 NL tijd door @SpaceX de #CrewDragon met astronauten Hurley en Behnken gelanceerd. De eerste lancering van astronauten met een Amerikaanse raket sinds het einde van de Space Shuttle in 2011.

Mocht je eigen locatie er niet bij zitten: kies een stad dichtbij (enkele tientallen km maakt weinig verschil), of op ongeveer dezelfde breedtegraad.
Of bereken het zelf voor je eigen locatie via heavens-above.com/main.aspx

Wij moeten echt duimen dat de lancering van #CrewDragon morgen wél doorgaat, want op de alternatieve lanceerdata (30 en 31 mei) als de lancering morgen níet doorgaat, is het lanceertijdstip veel vroeger, en komt ze daardoor bij ons voorbij als het nog té licht is.
