THREAD: 1/ We got lots of good questions today on why #FalconHeavy was needed for #USSF44 instead of Falcon 9. You can actually see the reason (yay maths!!!) by comparing the Hotbird 13F & USSF-44 stage separation velocities. 
2/ This is the center booster's shutdown velocity (2nd stage starting velocity) for USSF-44: ~14,270 km/h. That's 51% of low Earth orbit velocity. Now, compare that to the geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) mission of #Hotbird13F just a few weeks prior...
3/ On that GTO mission, the #Falcon9 booster (while still recovered) got the 2nd stage to a starting velocity of ~8,210 km/h. That 2nd stage had quite a lot more work to do (more deltaV needed) to haul the payload into the parking orbit before burning for GTO than USSF-44's did.

Okay, so the audio in the original video is misleading. This event happened at about 9km altitude, so any wave generated at that instant would reach the ground roughly 30sec later. Not sure how the audio was synced but if it’s real time from the ground, it’s coincidental

.@NASA and @SpaceX now are targeting October 31 for the launch of the agency's #SpaceXCrew1 mission with astronauts to the International Space Station (@Space_Station).
The US space agency had earlier targeted October 23 for the launch of the mission which comes after the #SpaceX Demo-2 test flight which flew astronauts Bob Behnken (@AstroBehnken) and Doug Hurley to the space station.

#SouthKorea is on track for its first lunar mission, with its first launch of a lunar orbiter slated for the second half of 2022, the country's space research institute said on Sunday after its lunar project suffered multiple delays.
South Korea, a relative latecomer to the global space race, has been working on a lunar orbiter programme since 2016, Yonhap news agency reported.

Waarom alleen de raket en nog niet de satellieten? Dat is omdat de satellieten dit keer pas één uur na de lancering van de bovenste trap van de #Falcon9 worden losgelaten. Als het spul 23 minuten na de lancering over ons komt, zijn ze dus nog niet los van de raket!

5A uydusu Kasım 2017de imzalanan sözleşme ile Airbus Defence And Space @AirbusSpace firmasınca yapılmaya başlandı. Görece kısa bir süre içerisinde firmanın Fransa Toulouse şehrindeki Uydu Montaj, Entegrasyon ve Test Merkezinde üretimi tamamlandı. Testler devam ediyor.
Uydu 3,5 Ton ağırlığında. Görüntüdeki insan boyutu ile karşılaştırılabilir. Güneş panelleri açıldığı zaman çok daha büyük olacağını hatırlatmakta fayda var. E3000e platformu üzerine inşa edilen uydu 10 kW gücünde faydalı yükü taşıyacak. Uydunun 15 yıl hizmet vermesi planlanıyor.

La primera, el propulsor que está llena de combustible y dá el 1er. impulso al despegar ya deja de ser una basura como en cohetes anteriores, se desprende y vuelve a aterrizar, se imaginan el ahorro de dinero?

Acá podemos ver desde la cámara del propulsor el aterrizaje en la base marina, es tan preciso que en vez de hacerlo en un desierto lo hacen en esta plataforma marina, en el centro mismo.

There will be a #Hayabusa2 post-touchdown press conference at 2:00 UTC today (tonight), streaming at - I reckon it'll be in Japanese only. (And 15 minutes after the #Falcon9 lift-off if that happens on time - space action around the clock ... :-)
Nothing noteworthy noted while @haya2e_jaxa was at "gate 5", so it's returning to its standard parking position in 20 km distance from #Ryugu now - the webcast is over, and it's unlikely we'll learn more before the press conference in 1 1/2 hours.
Looks like at we will get the #Hayabusa2 post-touchdown press conference at the top of the hour with an *English* translation. (While at the @SpaceX webcast should still be running - just not enough time for so much space ... ;-)
