People like @iainmartin1 didn't forsee the issues with Galileo satellite system (just as they didn't forsee Euratom, or the 20 other brexit related issues they missed)

Instead of showing humility, he blithely says "we'll build our own"

2) Iain has absolutely no idea of the complexities involved in launching a UK only GPS environment - or the wit to realise how ridiculous our justification for obtaining the appropriate bandwidth
("We brexited, and didn't realize this would be a consequence")

3) You would hope that at some point, as issue after issue arises with #Brexit, people of integrity would say "ok, hands up, we got this terribly wrong, we drastically underestimated the issues & we need to rethink this whole thing"

4) I can think of no successful project of any kind where the reaction to every unforseen or overlooked problem is either:
a) those figures can't be right
b) it's all a conspiracy or
c) we'll just duplicate all that existing investment ourselves

5) Galileo however is a new low. The spectacle of "free market" obsessed Tories of decades standing now pretending that duplication of an entire satellite system to provide essentially the same features is not only required but "a good idea" is surreal

6) if it wasn't so tragic it would be funny. There is a section of the political class who will literally say anything, back any barking mad "solution", denounce any institution and above all blame anyone, rather than admit they got it spectacularly wrong on #Brexit

7) watch out for Brexiters advocating we build a "British internet" and our own, duplicate airports in every major city for British planes because of some other complication they overlooked in their 40 years of #brexit "planning".
