Okay, so here's the situation:
1. MANAFORT is charged with multiple crimes that attract *decades* in prison. That's no joke, at his age he'd die in jail found guilty
2. His biz partner RICK GATES has flipped on him
3. His other friends have flipped too & are talking to Mueller

Everything Mueller has thrown at MANAFORT is all before the Trump campaign and nothing to do with collusion or Russia. Failing to register as foreign agent lobbying for Ukraine, tax avoidance, money laundering etc. Basically: swamp stuff to enrich himself (allegedly)

MANAFORT was at Trump Tower meeting which Obama Bros say is "case closed" for "collusion" (Spoiler: It's not)

Okay, so why does MANAFORT *even need to attempt to tamper with witnesses in his case*?
Why not flip on Trump himself or someone like Trump Jr, or Jared Kushner?
Just give up the collusion conspiracy that "credible" (HT @Comey) CHRISTOPHER STEELE says you ran for leniency?

That's why he's got to tamper with witnesses. He can't beat the case straight up & hasn't got anything to give up to Mueller on collusion...

I'd go even further. Nothing close to Trump/Russia collusion can exist because MANAFORT doesn't even think he can make up a good story about collusion!
