Here's a thought, Conservatives. Run your own numbers. Do them right - you've got plenty of people who can do them for you. Then, run the numbers for your policy which will, you say, do more for less. Then let's have a real debate.
StatsCan has a great tool - SPSD/M which will allow you to design and simulate policy impacts. You can calculate income distribution effects, etc. quite easily. 
Plus, back in the early days of the Harper government, Conservatives put out what is likely the most fully modeled and explained GHG policy we've nearly implemented - the Turning the Corner Plan. It included a supplementary economic and emissions modelling chapter. Seriously.
One of the leads on that, @marktcameron is still working on GHG policy. You should look him up. @Sean_Speer has also written some good stuff on this file, as have many others who lean conservative. @jackmintz literally wrote the paper that changed Cdn GHG policy.
