Morning thread: So at the moment it’s unclear who will turn out to have called it right, me (fear that Trump version of IG report will dominate media) or my husband (not so fast; this may play out very differently.) (1)
Just following MSNBC yesterday (we know already how Fox etc. will perform) Chuck Todd and Brian Williams definitely are checks in my (depressing) column; but Chris Hayes had Podesta on (briefly) vindicating our anger and then....(2)
Rachel really went to town blasting Comey for basically being bullied into his shameful treatment of email investigation. She went right up to the line of saying he gave Trump the presidency! Step over, girl!! (And don’t let the media off the hook either) (3)
Of course I wish she had done it as it happened rather than having to wait for some report from a bunch of white guys....BUT I do have a little hope today that the report just may crack some stuff open in the MSM rather than just being ground up by Trump to serve his devices. (4)
He will do that, sure, and his cult will genuflect, but at the same time, it’s just possible that those who have told us to ”stop relitigating 2016” and “move on” will start to sing a different tune. We shall see.....(5 and end of thread....for now....)

And P.P.S.: Watch out today for false equivalences between “Democrat’s takeaway” and “Republican’s takeaway” from the report. I’m already hearing some in early morning news. Casual anti-Trump text banter between two staffers DO NOT compare to Comey’s disastrous announcements.
False equivalence in 1st sentence of NYT today:

Comey’s public “insubordination” equivalent to private text “bashing” of Trump? I don’t think so. But Giuliani and Trump and supporters will. Hasn’t the Times learned anything???? Why do they insist on feeding the beast?
