2/Biggest change is explosion of mobile video. Video is now w/us all the time. Don't need TV to bring it to us any more. Always on, video heavy media allows compelling candidates like @Ocasio2018 to tell their story in ways 30 sec spots never could -
3/Think about how @AmyMcGrathKY burst on to the scene, or the great new video we saw from @mjhegar this week - theeagle.com/news/texas/can… These long form videos weren't possible in age of 30 sec spots.
4/New social/viral/always on media age is far more candidate-centric, and performance/narrative/authenticity of candidate just matters more now. Trump Inc starts w/his words on Twitter each day. Or follow @BetoORourke. He is doing it right.

6/Or this ad fr @SenDougJones, critical to his narrow victory in Alabama. . Voters, particularly younger people, are expecting to be spoken to, touched, in a different and more compelling way. Issues still matter, but stories/brands may matter more now.
7/Here's the video from @mjhegar. 3 1/2 minutes. For Dems raises lot of questions abt how consultants can be paid for videos like this, whether our consultants have video/storytelling skills to produce media like this etc. But this is what is coming.
