Legendary @nytimes reputation for accuracy letting it down a bit here. But I can confirm these are the same emails we have, @arron_banks. And we didn’t give them to them. So looks like you’ll have to fill out another of those crime reports.

We first reported on Trump-Brexit-Russia, 14 months ago. Cambridge Analytica, Farage, Wikileaks - the UK, is a focal point at centre of this - as recognised by Mueller last Oct. Slowly, slowly, US press catching on. Could the UK govt be next??

The @NYtimes has one key bit of new info buried way down. @arron_banks' business partner, Jim Mellon - @jimmhk - TOOK one of the sweetheart deals the Russian ambassador offered up. He's a major Brexit donor. And he made £££ off the back of the Russians' interest in the referendum

NEW: Cambridge Analytica said US voter @profcarroll had no more right to know what data the company held on him than "a Taliban sitting in a cave". Today, it pleads guilty in case brought by Britain's ICO. This is a big deal. US citizens! You have..drum roll..rights to your data!
This has been a long haul for @profcarroll. We first wrote about his battle to get this data here. Today, Cambridge Analytica finally concede that he had a right to this data. Next question: will he actually get it?

Gold: Fortunately, Comex is not a government entity and continues to function. As you can see from here, open interest is reported daily and has increased quite a lot (4moz equiv) since 18 December.

Gold: Simplistically, with gold prices going up and OI up, speculators are likely adding to longs, driving the OI change and helping the price move higher.

I estimate the net managed money long is now at least 6.5 moz but could be more if short covering has happened too.

‘No deal’ is dead: the @EUCourtPress Advocate General‘s opinion is that the UK can unilaterally revoke article 50 under certain circumstances. So we don’t have to leave the EU without a deal unless we’re irrational enough to decide that’s what we want
Parliament will rightly now be able to consider the Government’s legal advice on the ‘Withdrawal Act’ before it has to vote whether or not to accept the Govt’s #Brexit deal next Tuesday

Theresa May has met Caribbean leaders to talk about the treatment of the #windrushgeneration. Yesterday Downing Street refused such a meeting. But she’s changed her mind.
The Daily Mail thinks that was because it told her to. It may well be right.
The Mail has clout. It can change things for the better when it puts its mind to it. This could be described as good #journalism.
But good journalism (imho) also requires giving the reader the full story, not just the convenient bits.
Today’s paper includes a ragout from its Saturday essay, headlined “What an outrage!” (You may have missed it or not realised what it was about – that could be the heading on almost any Saturday essay).

1) Thread - All Brexits are bad and what we voted for
It's often said by brexiters that "it's not all about economics"
However, the *actual* Leave campaign was almost wholly about economic arguments

With the leak of this 2-8% report those arguments are now trashed
2) We seem to have forgotten this however economics played a huge part in the Vote Leave campaign, making up over 2/3rds of the primary arguements. The clear message was we would at the least be no worse off and at best much better off. 4 of the 6 below state this clearly
3) & the fact is voters believed we would be no worse off. People prioritized immigration certainly, but against a backdrop of there being no consequences from Brexit - few are prepared to actually pay for ending FoM
