Sure @marcthiessen. Liberals live in all the parts of the country which actually have complex economies, immigration, and multicultural dynamics, but they're the ones who "lost touch".
I will say this: urban and rural America have different struggles and often don't appreciate each other's contributions and concerns. That's as old as America. But to claim Middle America Trump voters are "realer" or "woker" than coastal Democrats is getting to be a tired trope.
It also ignores the fact that other, arguably more meaningful fault lines exist that produced the Trump era.
There are tons of African-American voters in the Heartland and Appalachia, and they overwhelmingly didn't back Trump, for example.
