Need to be clear abt what happened here. DHS/Sec Nielsen put separated children into system for kids arriving alone. Had no system for tracking parents/kids, reunification. All the problems foreseeable. Extraordinary incompetence, malevolence. Investigations needed.
2/Remember, DHS has repeatedly lied, and politicized this entire tragic episode. Their talking points often sound more like RNC than the govt. Big takeaway here is the part of USG responsible for keeping us safe not working under Trump. Is big deal.
