I know I tweeted on Friday that people should give Trump a bit more credit as he is more calculating than people give him credit for.
But on this he absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt, and with no possible room for misinterpretation - has no idea what he is talking about.

Ok for a moment I’m going to give this bonkers suggestion more due than it deserves.
The UK and EU are negotiating an agreement where the UK can leave the EU on terms which will allow the two to continue trading on relatively frictionless terms. That’s a highly complex negation

But it’s a negotiation - it can’t be dealt with via litigation (suing each other) as this is an agreement which needs to be constructed and mutually agreed. That’s the opposite of litigation, where on party sues another to enforce a legal right eg over a previous agreement
There may be litigation resulting from the UK leaving the EU or the new agreement but it won’t - and can’t - be the answer to the only important question: what agreement if any can the EU and UK reach post-Brexit?
The fact that Trump apparently thinks litigation is the answer shows (1) how little he knows or cares about a post-Brexit arrangement, (2) also how he sees the world in zero sum terms, (3) how warring parties and a no deal Brexit would suit his interests as it undermines the EU
