I represent a mom and 5 yr old boy-asylum seekers from Guatemala. I was able to obtain the report the border patrol agent wrote when he separated the 5 yr old from his mother. Many parts are redacted but take a look. The border agent wrote 5 yr old is in DHS custody... 
The border patrol agent writes in his report that Manuel was separated from his mother Lilian even though mother did not want a sponsor and would return to Guatemala with baby. But nonetheless the 5 yr old was taken from his mother. (Apologies for the blk markings & redactions)..
In another section the border agent writes the 5 year old is an “unaccompanied minor,” meaning the baby traveled alone, without a parent. That is a LIE. That’s why the govt can’t reunite the children now, bcz they were marked as being unaccompanied. Making them orphans!
