Did you know if orcas in sea world suffer from sun burns or blisters they are painted w black zinc oxide to cover up the marks? It’s far past time this company faces the consequences and releases their healthy orcas, and ones in need into a monitored sea pen. #BoycottSeaWorldDay
Orcas have been seen on multiple occasions inducing self inflicted injuries, one specifically, Hugo, died of a brain aneurysm after repeated brutal bashing of his head against the walls of his cage, mainly against the viewing area. After his death no memorial or even plaque was
Put up. Instead, any and all references to Hugo ended when a crane dumped his remains into the Miami-Dade landfill.
Furthermore, the original orcas were captured and stolen from their families. Even AFTER the babies were captured and being put into loading cargo, the family stayed at the edges of the capturing boats and cried for their babies. Orcas have extremely tight knit family groups,
with the baby never leaving the mother in the wild. About 54% of current orcas in captivity share DNA w Tilikum, the orca that killed his trainer Dawn Brancheau, along w many other documented incidents of being aggressive towards trainers. Normally animals that exhibit aggressive
behavior like this would Never be bred w another animal. Also note that Tilikum’s entire life was tragic most likely contributing to this fatal attack. Personally, I think the attack happened out of frustration from the animal. He had been doing his “routine” and missed the
signal to come back after completing the trick and doing a good job. When he missed the whistle, he came back after completing a perfect display and not been given his reward and was then reprimanded. Anyone would be frustrated at this. Orcas have a larger section of their brain
that controls emotions making scientists believe this must give them a heightened sense of emotion. Add this, on to an entire life spent in a jail cell being forced to preform tricks, and 2/3 of his life spent in a 20 foot dark box, would make anyone a little crazy. Esp when
you’re used to spending every day w your family swimming 100 miles a day playing in the open ocean. An orca fatally attacking a human has never been documented in the wild. If you look up videos of encounters between orcas and humans they’re actually quite curious and playful,
While humans are the destructive killers. This barbaric practice must end. @SeaWorld claims these animals are in family pods just like in the wild. Throwing together animals who have different ways of communicating, different cultures, and different DNA, is not a family.
I could go on w many other reason this is a horrific practice. However I think the documentary Blackfish can do much more than I can and show images and stories that I have left out. You can find it on Netflix. Thank you for reading this, and join the fight against cruel
institutions that are built for profit only, and do NOTHING to educate the public on real, wild orcas
Okay I just want to clarify this bc people have been calling me out. Upon further research the 4th picture of the blood is photoshopped. The other injuries and deformities tho are definitely real. I was unaware of this and next time will try harder to get unedited images!

This article talks about the possible harmful effects on humans, so I cannot speak for orcas. But putting a foreign substance on already damaged skin? A more gentle aloe infused sunscreen could be used. Former trainer Carol Ray speaks about how after
applying the substance to a male orca, burnt layers of his skin would peel off.
For people calling me manipulative, I didn’t even think my 2 followers would read it all. If I’m wrong on some details please provide facts and articles and don’t just attack me saying I’m wrong. Make both sides more educated. Simple
The negativity surrounding this is ridiculous. Why can’t we all agree that current treatment and conditions of the orcas in Sea World is inadequate?
