...but we are pushed by the party in power to rush through the confirmation of that President's SCOTUS nominee, who, if confirmed, would sit on the Court before which questions related to the President's culpability would be determined & who has already expressed views ../2
...suggesting he would be inclined to insulate a president from prosecution while in office. And whose voluminous record - while serving as a trusted advisor for a prior president - has been withheld from disclosure by the party in power.../3
We have already seen catastrophic damage to the integrity of the presidency. We have seen the abdication of responsibility and leadership by the Congress. Any attempt to rush through the confirmation of Judge Kavanaugh w/o full vetting & prior to the end of....4/
....the Mueller investigation threatens the integrity of the Court. Any new justice should be confirmed without being tainted by the noxious cloud of the investigation of this President & w/a full & transparent review. 5/
Let's fight for the integrity of the Court and the "advise & consent" function that the Constitution assigns to the full Senate. McConnell's political manipulations should not be allowed to derail a confirmation process in which the American ppl can have confidence. 6/

It begins with transparency. Judge Kavanaugh should be prepared to be evaluated on his full record including his time as Staff Secy to President Bush, which he has said is the job that has been “the most instructive” to him as a judge. /8
Now Sens McConnell & Grassley ate stonewalling on providing that information. They claim it’s not necessary b/c he’s been a judge for 10 years. But remember.../9
Justice Sotomayor had been a judge for 16 years & the Republicans demanded the board minutes of the Puerto Rican Legal Defense Fund (now Latino Justice) on which she’d served years before. The mins were provided to the Committee. /9
But now Judge Kavanaugh should be permitted to shield records from his time serving as Staff Secretary to a U.S. President? This is absurd and unacceptable. Tell your Senators. /10
