Mr. Pacheco worked at Casa Kokopelli location for @SouthwestKey for nearly a year & a background check was not run for four months while he was allowed to work at the facility.
Casa Kokopelli was cited in 2017 for failing to run background checks on prospective employees. 2/

The Trump administration's zero tolerance & separation policy represents a huge uptick in cash flow giving them a vested interest in acquiring more children while trying to maintain their staffing needs. Failing to run background checks is a dangerous corner to cut. 4/
Nowhere in that communique to they accept any responsibility. Instead they in fact subtly blame the children for failing to disclose the repeated abuses to their staff or authorities. 6/
However, as child placement providers, @SouthwestKey would know that 73% of sexually abused children don't disclose in the 1st year & 45% don't disclose even after 5 years. Many never do.

The immigrant crisis at the border is complex but if the federal government is going to take custody of minor children, they bear the same, if not greater, responsibility to provide safe housing with proper care that is required of state DHHS agencies.
This must stop:
Sexual abuse, physical abuse, medical neglect, poor nutrition, and nearly nonexistent mental health care all rest at the feet of @SecNielsen @jeffsessions & @POTUS himself.

As they continue this ill advised course of action, children are being hurt and they are beginning to die.
