Today, I have the honor of welcoming Jason Klitenic as General Counsel of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. He was confirmed by the Senate last week and sworn in by me this morning at ODNI headquarters.
Jason is an excellent choice for the role of General Counsel, with strong national security and law enforcement credentials from both the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Department of Justice.
He has demonstrated a strong commitment to government service and has served as the first Deputy General Counsel of the Department of Homeland Security and as a Deputy Associate Attorney General at the Department of Justice.
In his private practice, Jason led his law firm's Homeland Security Team and worked closely and collaboratively with the people who serve in our national security agencies.
He has managed a wide portfolio, including counterterrorism efforts, information sharing initiatives, government procurement, regulatory compliance and ethics.
I would also like to thank Bradley Brooker for his service as Acting General Counsel for the last 20 months. I am especially thankful for his commitment to providing astute legal counsel and guidance to the ODNI.
We are fortunate that Brad will continue his service to ODNI as Principal Deputy General Counsel alongside Jason.
I have no doubt that our Office of General Counsel, the ODNI and the Intelligence Community will benefit from Jason's experience and leadership, and I look forward to working with him.
