Let me tell you what my goal is over the next few months... Midterms are not presidential elections... The interest level is relatively low, even for this midterm... My hope to get in the weeds as much as possible for a mainstream audience... 1/?
I'll be stressing what I call the I-51 to I-95 (or I-99) corridor... That is, one result is more likely than another, but there is still uncertainty... I probably (?) won't be doing this through probabilities... but rather through real margin of errors... Maybe odds...
I'll be looking at the stuff my pals @fivethirtyeight are putting out, what David/Nathan put out at Cook/Inside Elections, and stuff we'll be putting out as well... Yes, there are different products, but my goal through all of this is to better inform a mainstream audience...
@FiveThirtyEight That's why I took the job I did... I love my former colleagues... but I fear more mainstream audiences aren't hearing the message. I'm not saying I'm the best messenger, but I'm sure as heck as going to try.
@FiveThirtyEight I view this all as a trial for 2020... We'll see how it comes together.
