I'm convinced that all of the smart people in #ethereum have to know it's an outright scam at this point, and probably have for a long time.

The only question is, how to unwind their positions of 10s of millions of ether?
They want you to think the #ethereum network is viable by stringing you along on this decade long wild goose chase for PoS. They'll happily sell you their bags as they move onto their next scam.
Bitcoiners have been warning you, but I do hope the innocent speculators out there don't get too rekt. Maybe their bags are too big to sell and they get caught in their own web of marketing and lies.

A real "dApp" is a very rare thing. So rare they can easily have their own names, like Bitcoin and Lightning Network.
As a idea, apps that label themselves dapps, is pretty funny.
Mainly, they call themselves dapps to excuse their lack of users and to confuse their investors. There are no dapps on ethereum, except maybe the erc20 contract itself I guess.

Can the altcoins handle the coming pain?

How many holders of last resort do they have?
Altcoins have built their networks on marketing and false narratives. Reinflating an altcoin bubble is without deliverables is going to be impossible.
Bitcoin delivers its value prop everyday. It delivers more valuable innovation all the time. It's network effects will continue expanding, while altcoins' will shrink to nothing.

The term "cryptoassets" (conveniently the title of Chris's book) is hugely detrimental to investors' understanding of digital scarcity and sustainable comp advs in this tech.

The term scam, however, is *under used*. Ripple is the #2 coin by market cap for God's sake.

The entire altcoin complex would benefit if people were less forgiving of the 99% that are outright scams.

Of course, the line we are told to toe (by scammers) is to ignore the scams, be nicer, let the scams run their courses naturally. Lol
It feels very similar to the coinbase "education" initiative, that just fills your head with buzzwords like blockchain and cryptoassets, then they try to sell you their scams coins, that have no competitive ad except for pumpers and shills.

1. It's all a ponzi, literally all of it, $XRP = ponzi, $BTC = ponzi, $ETH = ponzi, $TSLA = ponzi, $GBP = ponzi, you get the idea, the reason behind this is if you don't care about the project (remember I don't invest, I trade) you can cut the position without getting emotional
2. You've probably heard it before but risk management is everything unless you have a high hit rate (if you kid yourself you'll be the one losing money not me) risk no more than 2% per trade, small consistent gains will compound faster than you might think
3. Super tight stops are the fastest way to lose money give it some wiggle room, I've missed so many plays doing this I wish you guys knew, what I do now is enter small and if it's going my way and is giving me confirmation then I'll compound more

Ok, this is going to be a controversial one. I've avoided the topic for a long time, but since there are many important experts -- ppl that I truly admire -- discussing the subject, I can no longer ignore it.
1/ Since the @Bakkt announcement, the issue has gained steam, especially through the works of @CaitlinLong_ (who's a real champion of #Bitcoin and liberty btw) and her concerns on WallSt's financialization of crypto. B/c of that, FRB is now inserted frequently into debates.
2/ As a background for laymen, FRB is considered THE BIG CONTENTIOUS & UNRESOLVED DEBATE within adherents of the so-called Austrian School of Economics. Rothbardians tend to think it's fraudulent, inflationary and causes economic cycles. They are the proponents of 100% reserves.

1/ #Ethereum is crashing (not just in USD terms but in BTC terms); has the demand for a decentralized world computer disappeared, or is something else at play? Let's consider the fundamentals from an economic point of view.
2/ The price level of all monetary goods is determined by (and only by) reservation demand. More precisely, the duration that the average unit of the monetary good is held in reserve.
3/ At one extreme you have a good like gold that is stored in vaults in perpetuity because of a widely held belief that it will retain its value long into the future.

Gold has a very high reservation demand which is why it has a market cap of over seven trillion dollars.
