What if, rather, he was trying to conceal there had been ANY abuse at all,
because there was something far more sinister lurking beneath the surface... like the death of his victims and abuse of power to conceal and diminish penalties those crimes -

and the involvement of the GOP in systematically concealing and thus enabling those acts?

If the payments were intended to prevent exposing the above, why wouldn't those questions be allowed - since Hastert's refusal to continue paying post-exposure seems directly correlated?

but still seems to be an injustice to someone Hastert has already victimized in at least two ways, decades apart.
