The president was alleged to be an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal crime. What did we hear from Republicans on the Hill? Was this the moment when Republican leaders finally stood up and said ‘enough’? Nope.
At some point, after the Access Hollywood tape, Charlottesville, Helsinki summit, & now after these most recent revelations, the broad failure of Republicans in Congress to condemn the president’s behavior becomes a form of complicity.
The mantra of the Republican majority in the 115th Congress might be “put your head in the sand.”
The price of the Republicans' Faustian bargain has already become too steep. Considerations of country & constitution aside, if my Republican colleagues remain silent, the Republican Party is a co-conspirator in the culture of corruption that surrounds this president.
