So many of us deal with the kind of trolling and online harassment that @pronounced_ing is highlighting here and in her previous thread. This type of coordinated abuse is grounded in misogynistic rationale that Asian American women/feminists need to be put back in our place.
The purpose of this type of abuse campaign is to terrorize Asian American women into silence through repeated harassment, belittlment, and occasionally threats. Sadly, it is too often effective; over the years I know several women who have felt forced to stop talking bc of this.
This is happening. This is happening every day to many of us Asian American women and feminists. We know who these users are. We know where they congregate. We know their tactics.

And yet, the community does almost nothing to address this, and so the targeted abuse continues.
It should not be incumbent upon Asian American women enduring an active abuse campaign — and when most vulnerable to dangerous escalation — to have highlight what’s happening and lead the charge against these abusers.
The Asian American community instead needs to finally decide enough is enough. We need to rise up as a community and to declare enough is enough, and that these targeted abuse campaigns against Asian American women are wholly unacceptable.
We need those in our community with the privilege to rarely/never be the target of this kind of abuse to finally have the courage to take on this issue and speak out against these tactics. We need every member of our community to refuse to engage or legitimize these abusers.
The internet should be a democratizing place where we can propel forward the Discourse on Asian American identity. It should be place where we can respectfully debate race and gender, and where those who don’t understand feminism can ask questions and learn more, not abuse us.
If people take issue with feminists or feminism, many of us would welcome respectful, sincere efforts to ask questions or learn more.

But if you have an issue with a feminist, don’t organize a campaign to harass and terrorize her into silence. That is not okay.
Targeted abuse campaigns and those who coordinate them should have no place in our discourse. It should be on all of us, not just the victims of that abuse, to have to finally say enough is enough.

Stop allowing abusers to harass Asian American women into silence.
Just jumping back into this thread to note that there are screenshots circulating of an AsAm masculinist subreddit where users are specifically encouraged to create multiple Twitter accounts to mob prominent AsAms (often women) explicitly for the purpose of harassing/hurting them
Believe Asian American women when we say we are enduring online harassment. Believe us when we say this is targeted and coordinated abuse. Believe us when we say that the deliberate purpose of this abuse is to try to hurt us.
