Hey folks, don't take this the wrong way, but sending your transgender friends articles about whatever conservative media personality having a transgender fetish is just... not okay. At all. Don't do that.
And while we're at it, even with the best of intentions, sending your transgender friends articles about trans folks who have been murdered or abused is probably ill-advised unless you have an understanding with them. These things can be triggering. Just please be aware.
And I certainly don't speak for any other transgender person on this. We're not all alike. Just as with any group, there's an infinite nature to our worldviews. But consider this a friendly heads-up that these things are often anxiety-inducing. Take a few moments. Pause.
And don't feel bad if you've already done it! Don't send me apologies. I have no power to absolve you. We all mess up. We're all allies to whatever communities. And allies make mistakes. Just do better. That's all we can do, right? ❤️
