having all the honeybots back is a blessing from almighty god, part 1: shot
having all the honeybots back is a blessing from almighty god, part 2: chaser
that is just an excerpt. that person sent THIRTY THREE tweets to linda. talked to her for HOURS
for those of you who weren't around when i first made the atheist-bait honeybots: they have less than 20 responses, which they choose from at random. they also have a slight chance of repeating a "bait" phrase and a chance of replying to "you're" and "your" with a "correction"
linda and carol are functionally identical except carol (@christianmom18) talks in lower case and linda (@LUVTHATSAVIOR) talks in all caps
i have several other honeybot accounts but the ones that exclusively bait atheists tend to engage people in much longer conversations and get way more people taking the bait in general
i'm guessing that this is because the kind of people who term search for words relating to atheism actually want nothing more than to talk to someone they're smarter than and are perfectly happy doing so with something that is barely more sophisticated than a magic 8-ball
internet atheism also rewards this: people who quote tweet dunks on religious accounts gain social capital and their followers can all pile on the person being dogpiled, even when that person isn't, you know, a person
another amazing thing about the honeybots is that people often seem to figure out they are bots and keep talking to them anyway
sometimes it's in a "i'm trying to figure out how this works" way but sometimes they also just keep arguing. this could be that the term "bot" just means "somebody i disagree with" now but it did happen even before that linguistic drift happened
if you want to read about the first big argument with dipshits carol had i wrote about it on medium medium.com/@NoraReed/the-…
i also did a guide to honeybots. the theory on this is sound but some of the actual applications don't work anymore because of twitter API changes medium.com/@NoraReed/hook…
i think my favorite ones are the ones who think they are extremely clever
though the ones that refer to them using racist and/or ableist slurs that haven't been in common use since the 1950s and the ones that get really focused on their sex lives are also impressive in their own ways
whenever i have to explain why chapo and the other various toxic elements of irony-poisoned socialism are an issue i usually just am like "so, you know how internet atheism is the worst? our goal is to not be that"
it only works on people who have actually interacted with internet atheists, though, since it's a pretty small subset of atheists that are desperate for twitter debates and super into defending their heroes when they get caught doing sexual violence
some of them argue entirely with the contents of their saved images folder and honestly i find their autoerotic jesus art subpar
if you enjoy my bots you can give me money if you want

you can also say thank you by giving to the crowdfunding projects of the trans people you know or by contributing in whatever ways work for you personally to anti-fascism
say thanks by helping out the next time you see somebody get hassled by a cop, shit like that.
OH ALSO: do not engage with the people who fall for the honeybots. it ruins the fun. if they find out about it let it be because a tweet with screenshots of the bots went viral and they finally had it hit them months later
this happened with carol before and i was inundated with "im not owned" comments from the person who kept quote tweeting her and it was brilliant
