Younger or older, this is the best investment you can make for your well-being – outside of proper nutrition and exercise.

With initiative and magnanimity.
No school can teach you how to handle rejection, fearless.

And you don't need to drop out of school to do it either.

With the Internet, the opportunities are endless.
1. Get a sales job and start cold-calling and emailing customers. Make sure you read all the rejection mail you get.

Inure yourself.

You'll make money even if you work commission-only.
2. If you're applying to schools, pick alumni, faculty and admissions people to call – send emails, ask to call or meet.

Follow up if you don't hear back - be persistent, be relentless, ALWAYS polite.

Use every opportunity – but be careful not to damage your prospects.
3. Go to public places and chat up people you like – doesn't matter if you do pickup or just make friends.

Bars, festivals, parks, clubs, you name it.

Hint: If you're still in college or high school, you don't even need to go anywhere – it's people all around.
4. If you already have a business, set aside a block of time weekly to huddle with salespeople and/or do sales yourself.

Get into the cold calls and emails. Follow up – don't delegate – and do everything in large blocks of time, so Mind is pounded with rejection.
5. Make a list of the best and brightest in your field – or people you can learn from – and email them to connect.

Ask for calls, meetings, whatever fits your situation, but ALWAYS have a clear agenda for it. Do NOT waste people's time.
6. Whenever possible ask in person. Use social media only when no other channel is available – and you've tried to get the contact through a third party.

Those things you want from family, friends, coworkers, but never said – get to asking for them NOW.
7. Set specific targets:

- cold calls and emails to make every day/week
- list of people to reach, with deadlines
- process: email, then follow-up within X days, etc. – make a flow chart if you like!
8. Follow up to every rejection, whenever appropriate, and be polite even if the person was rude or unavailable.

Remember the three Ps: Proactive, Polite, Personable.
9. Ask for more. If you're getting too successful, you're probably being too timid with your sales.

Raise prices, demand a larger scholarship, ask for more time together – upsell in whatever way fits your situation.
10. Track your progress to progress more. Keep a spreadsheet and/or journal of calls you made and hits you missed.

Make notes about what went well/poorly with the interaction. You will know what the teachable moments are. This will accelerate your learning.
11. Get on my email list immediately and load up on knowledge to level up your mind and leave mental blocks behind.

Welcoming rejection and non-attachment to outcomes is just the tip of the mindberg.
