NEW: In the Census case, the ACLU and NYAG demand disclosure of 32 docs that may show “animus to communities of color” and “mislead the public with a pretextual explanation” for the citizenship question.

Commerce and Sec. Wilbur Ross asserted privilege over docs.
For those asking, the privilege being asserted here is deliberative process privilege, i.e. intra-agency discussions, a detail that did not fit into the 280 characters of the original tweet.

I will make the document available as soon as it uploads.
"All but two of these records were created or received by Secretary Ross, Earl Comstock, Wendy Teramoto, or Karen Dunn Kelley, the four senior Department of Commerce (“Commerce”) officials most heavily involved in the decision to add the citizenship question."
According to the letter, these officials clammed up during depositions, making the disclosure of the emails necessary.

"The lack of forthrightness of these senior government officials was troubling to say the least," the letter states.
The document and the related exhibits - i.e. email summaries and depositions of officials - total 336 pages, and of course break in the wee hours of the night.

Here they are. documentcloud.org/documents/4825…
