If YOU struggle with learning languages or WANT to start learning a new language

...listen carefully.

This is How to Learn Foreign Languages FASTER and RETAIN them LONG TERM.

A QUICK THREAD.

#LanguageLearning
I took 2 years of Spanish in high school and forgot 95% of it.
So I know how you feel.

This all changed with memory techniques...

With this SIMPLE linking trick, I've learned words / phrases from 9 different languages on my world travels.

I still remember them 4+ years later.
Step 1: Foreign Image
Create a mental IMAGE that sounds like the word or phrase you want to learn.

Spanish (English) examples:

Piscina (swimming pool)
= "piss in a"

Aquí (here)
= a key

Cuál (which)
= koala bear

Cuándo (when)
= taekwondo

Aprender (to learn)
=app render
Step 2: Native Image
Create a mental IMAGE for the word/phrase in your native tongue.

Swimming pool (piscina)
= a swimming pool

Here (aquí)
= "where you're standing"

Which (cuál)
= a witch

When (cuándo)
= "tap on your watch"

To learn (aprender)
= you're studying
Step 3: LINK

Create a STORY by linking the two images together
Imagine it as you pronounce the word

Piscina = pissing in a pool

Aquí = a key is "right here"

Cuál = koala bear witch

Cuándo = tap watch "WHEN is taekwondo?"

Aprender = an app, when it renders, helps you learn
Trust the weird imagery your mind creates.

It doesn't have to "make sense" for your mind to remember it.

WEIRD = MEMORABLE
Important:

Review by "seeing" the story you created (do this a few times) and the connection will stick.

Then, move on to the next word/phrase.

You will retain these words/phrases for a long time.
If you found this useful, please "retweet" and share with others.

Also, I wouldn't use this technique on every single word you're learning, but one's you're initially struggling with.
