/ There's a lot of opinions about what we are fighting against with Bitcoin. Warren Buffet famously called Bitcoin "rat poison", so let's dissect the rat.
Safe to say it's not retail banking, rather we are questioning the legitimacy of a far more powerful organisation, the BIS.
/ Outside of our space nobody's ever heard of the BIS (Bank of International Settlements). It's an obscure organisation operating from a huge building in Basel (Switzerland). Looking in to the history of the "central bank of central banks" I discovered some interesting things.
/ Founded in 1930 the BIS was tasked to coordinate reparations from the Germans to the Allies. As it got clear that the Germans wouldn't be able to pay their debt, a plan was set up for the Germans to pay reparations till 1986. The BIS would coordinate that process.
/ However as Hitler gained power and broke the Treaty of Versailles, he also refused to pay reparations as this was devastating the German economy and people were up in arms. At this point the BIS had no real purpose anymore and could have been dissolved but it wasn't.
/ In WW2 the BIS found a new way to do business, a very ugly one. The Germans had "Devisenschutzkommandos", special units tasked to coordinate the captured gold and treasure abroad. They also inforced that jews couldn't have more than 1 account and small amounts of cash.
/ The BIS started to accept the gold captured by the Nazis in 1939 in Czechoslovakia. They effectively laundered the Nazi gold and sold them foreign currency to further boost their war machine. It's hard to say how much more death and destruction this financial help caused...
/ After WW2 Charles de Gaulle together with Russia demanded that the BIS should be shut down for the criminal organisation that it was. Wallstreet however didn't want that and was able to prevent that.
/ The funny thing is that even if anyone wanted, nobody could have shutdown the BIS. Authorities are not allowed to enter and the building is not even Swiss territory!
Today every 2 months central bankers of the world gather to discuss and adjust global monetary policy.
/ The BIS is an unelected, unaccountable and elitist organisation. They make over $1 billion profit per year and guess what, they don't have to pay taxes. Nobody questions their power because they are untouchable. THIS is what we are fightning against.
/ It's not a coincidence that they've been talking alot about Bitcoin in the past year. Ridiculing and demonizing it because they know exactly that there's no place for them in that new system. No place for elitist middlemen fiddling around with monetary policy destroying lives
/ So next time someone spins the narrative of the evil retail banks, remind them that we're up against way more powerful players. Don't think this will be easy, the war hasn't even started yet. We're up against people with immense ressources and they will use them.
