1. Why does the Left/dems hate the US Constitution so much? I've had this thought kicking around for a few days. As always think what you will.
2. The US Constitution was written during a time just after a revolution and a failed confederation. The writers of the document sought to heal the bitter division in the country and to form a union of the sovereign states for protection from the wider world among other things.
3. While many of the ideas of the U.S. Constitution were revolutionary in and of themselves the document itself was an effort to produce a means to stop the need for future revolutions.
4. In this regard it's been mostly successful except for a Civil war which wasn't so much a revolution but a war to decide a way of life. Either way, the document failed during that period. This is one reason so many amendments were made after the war to correct those failures.
5. So the U.S. Constitution can be viewed as an anti-revolution document. It separates power. It reaffirms God given rights. It addresses many of the causes that led to revolutions and civil unrest throughout history.
6. Sounds like something everyone should support doesn't it? So why does the left/dems hate the document? Hate it with white hot hate? Why have they attempted to subvert it for decades?
7. The answer ls within their ideology. At the core of leftism is Marxism. You can call it what you will. Socialism, progressives, postmodernism, open society, liberalism, communism. They all have the same basic foundation of Marxism.
8. Marxism was founded as a revolutionary ideology. It seeks revolutions. It seeks to toss the game board in the air and start over. It seeks to rearrange society. It seeks to overthrow the current power with one of their own.
9. Looking at things in this light it becomes much easier to understand why the left/dems hates the Constitution. Simply put the US Constitution with it's revolutionary ideas to stop revolutions is the strongest defense against any group seeking revolution.
10. To be successful in their revolution, the left/dems must first destroy the U.S Constitution and the ideals contained within it. The two forces can not live together in peace. It's an impossibility. To believe one you must reject the other.
11. You can not have censorship and free speech. You can't have an armed population and a docile population. You can't spy on the citizens and have protections against unreasonable searches. You can't have federalism and total control.
12. You can't have people voting and a deep state. You can't have freedom and equal outcomes. You can't have equal rights while promoting one group. You can't have a government promoting freedom of religion and no religion. Thus the hate of the U.S Constitution by the left.
13. The document itself has its own self correction mechanism that protects the people/country from the worst of the left's revolutionary impulses, while allowing society to embrace change to correct wrongs without revolution. It's not a surprise that process has been abandoned.
14. So, if you really want change, the correct answer is to reinforce the document and reaffirm the ideals it's based on, to cement the change with amendments. not revolution.
